Bartendering guide FAQs
Q: What does IBA stand for?
A: The International Bartender Association. The IBA sanctions a list
of official drinks that each bartender must have knowledge of.
Q: What are the most common liquors used in bars?
A: Gin, vodka, rum, tequila, whiskey, beer and wine (or cocktails containing
these ingredients) are the most-ordered items, but bartenders should
have a guide on hand in case of special requests.
Q: What are the advantages of taking bartending school online?
A: Students who take courses online can go at their own pace, plus they’re
usually cheaper than going to a physical location. It’s a misconception
that the affordability compensates for less education. Rather, there
aren’t instructors to pay or space to rent – and that’s
why online courses are cheaper than “hands on,” physical
locations.
